When LOST Bugs

Because you are a reader of this site, you probably agree with us that LOST is one of the best shows ever! Or at least one of the best now. Or is at least high on your list.

But for any great show, there are some things that really bug. Stuff that in and of themselves are so annoying that if it weren't for all the other great stuff going on in the stories, we'd tune out.

Dube's World has an excellent round-up of the Top 10 most annoying Lost moments. I'll give you his top 10 then add a few comments of my own:

Three I hated: Niki & Palo storyline, Libby's seemingly premature death, and the way Smoky took out Eko.

Those bugged. Niki & Palo could have been done so much better. I think it would have been great to get a new and fresh perspective on the island but it never worked well. Libby has a backstory that needs more development. And as awesome as Eko was, I thought Smoky rag-dolling him was kinda lame.

Two don't bother me: Hurley's diet and Charlie's death

One of the things I hear often from people who DON'T watch the show is, "I don't get why the fat guy doesn't loose weight when stranded on an island". Meh. I'm okay with it. Weight loss isn't always noticeable, there is food, and, well, there are some things that I'm willing to accept in order for them to tell me a story. How much Hurley weighs is not an issue for me. In fact, it's only been an issue once or twice in the show, and even then, not significant. As for Charlie, meh. I'm okay with how it all went down.

Two I don't notice: Fake Smoky Appearance and Lost Experience

To be honest, I hadn't heard of the fake smoky in the pilot episode until this post so...whatever. As for the Lost Experience, I didn't watch much of it since I wasn't sure it was part of the LOST "cannon". So, whatever.

Three I take issue with: Locke's trust of Ben, Curiosity Killing, and Michael's one-liner

I have noticed that Locke trusts Ben more than he should. But that's his character. Locke is a guy who desperately wants to lead, to do good, learn, and not fail. Ben knows how to manipulate his fragile ego. Locke knows that Ben has answers so he trusts. As for the curiosity killing, I like that they aren't dying at every turn. Makes for a good story.

And yes, Michael's one-liner "Waaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllltttttttttttt!" sort of became a joke and a bit annoying, I must admit, it was the Season 1 finale that got me hooked. I saw that scene when they took Walt and I wanted to know more. I hadn't seen season 1 so I got the episodes, went back, and got hooked. So, I'd have to say it was that line that actually got me into the show!

Three that bug me:
The only thing that bugs me a bit on the show is that sometimes it can take a while to answer questions. Often a LONG time. And sometimes those answers come at a time when we almost forgot the question. For example, remember Sayid finding the cable on the beach? It took 3 seasons to answer where it went. By then, I forgot I had that question and once it was answered, I didn't care that much -- at least at first.

Oh, and the other thing that bugs about LOST? Long breaks when all I can think of to say about the show is stuff like this.

And time travel.
