What's with the Giant ABC Spoiler?

Since I watched last week's "316" online, I didn't catch the preview for the upcoming episode, "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham". By happenstance, I saw it over the weekend, and...

Uh, what? They casually revealed a major plot point that I did not want to know. And I'm the guy who posts clips from episodes before they air. That's right, the clips ABC releases from upcoming episodes contain fewer spoilers than their promo for next week's episode.

When you search for Lost news on the Internet every day, you're bound to get something spoiled for you sooner or later. In Season 2, though I was specifically trying to avoid it (I'd heard a death had been leaked), I found out Shannon was going to die. Since then, I haven't read a spoiler as major as the one I saw in the ABC promo.

Maybe I'm overreacting and everybody except me thought the spoiler was obvious. Or maybe ABC's marketing department dropped the ball.
