Too Bad They Don't Have Polar Bears

Palmyra-Island.jpgJust stumbled across this amusing article. A group of twelve people might have to miss Lost when it returns in 24 hours - because they're stranded on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean.

The team of researchers were planning on leaving Palmyra Island, a protected national wildlife refuge located 1,000 miles southwest of Hawaii, on Saturday, but the plane they rode in on broke down. And as it turned out, rescuing them wasn't as easy as it seemed - Pacific Air Charters is getting a new plane for the crew, but because the island only has a coral runway, it will have to land on nearby Christmas Island and then ferry the researchers off Palmyra in two trips. Further extending the researchers' stay were complications that Pacific Air ran into with the Federal Aviation Administration in finding a suitable plane. The plan is to finally rescue them tomorrow.

Apparently the researchers themselves are fine, because Palmyra has cabins, supplies, and even electricity. And, we might presume, hatches, mysterious previous inhabitants, and major electromagnetic/wormhole problems.
