Theory on Sun's "controlling interest" in Paik's company

The most random moment of last Thursday's episode was when Sun told her father, the more-or-less evil businessman Mr. Paik, that she had used her settlement money to gain a controlling interest in his company.

It's more than just revenge - they're obviously going somewhere with this. My theory? The Oceanic Six ends up using the resources of Paik's company to get back to the island.

The very nature of Paik's company still hasn't exactly been disclosed (as far as I can remember), but way back in Season 1 there were theories floating around that he could be linked to the island. In the seventeenth episode, "...In Translation," Jin has a conversation with Mr. Paik in Paik's office, and in the background are numerous conspicuous images of what looks like a tropical island:

By the way, Sun told Paik he's "one of two people" responsible for Jin's death. Proof that he's really dead?
