"The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" Preview

My spoiler/predictions for "316" turned out to be surprisingly accurate, mostly due to luck and some fuzzy wording. So let's try it again, shall we? Once more, some of these are guesses, and some are spoilers I've weaned from the promo clips and EW's latest episode of "Totally Lost."

-We're avoiding the island entirely this episode, despite last week's promo showing some island scenes. Those will come later.

-Expanding on that, since this episode will be very focused -- the title alone reveals it will feature Locke almost exclusively and will chronicle everything that happened from turning the donkey wheel to his apparent "suicide" -- I'll probably like it a lot (after complaining some of the earlier episodes of this season lacked focus and were too dense). Yay!

-We'll meet up with two old friends this week, one of whom I've been especially disappointed about not seeing so far this season.

-Locke will be helped along on his journey by a fringe character. (Or is that a Fringe character?)

-It's hard to express how proud I am for thinking of that pun.

-Although there won't be any island scenes, expect a guest appearance by Sayid. In, apparently, the Dominican Republic.

-Direct from Totally Lost:
Carlton Cuse: "It wouldn't be a really good episode of Lost without a car chase."
Jeff Jensen: "Are you saying there's going to be a car chase?"
Damon Lindelof: "No, we're saying it's not going to be a good episode."

Ho, ho ho. The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham airs tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC, but if you didn't know that, you probably wouldn't be reading this. What are you doing here?
