The Big Twist in the Season 5 Finale (...Will Not Be Revealed in This Post)

Last week, TV Guide reported that Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse were asking fans to come up with the codename for the finale's big twist.

Code-naming the twist has been something of a tradition for Lindelof & Cuse; they referred to Walt's abduction in Season 1 "The Bagel," Penny's appearance in the Season 2 climax "Challah," and the flash-forward reveal in Season 3 "The Snake in the Mailbox."

In Season 4, they actually referred to Ben turning the wheel as "The Frozen Donkey Wheel", correctly assuming that no one would actually take it literally. "But you can only pull that trick once," Lindelof said in a later interview. "Or can you?!"

Anyway, fans made a ton of submissions, and now Lindelof & Cuse revealed the "top 13 contenders", again at TV Guide. They are:

* Baby Diaper Covered in Barbeque Sauce
* The Droids You're Looking For
* The Exploding Pretzel Jar
* The Fifth Toe
* The Fork in the Outlet
* The Hooded Leprechaun
* Jack Gets Pregnant
* The Joop
* Smokey's Dorm Room
* The Spanish Inquisition
* The Twinkie
* The Zeigarnik
* The Zombie Bake Sale

I'm partial to "Jack Gets Pregnant," if only because it's the funniest when used in a sentence. Envision the conversation in the writer's room: "Right, so they go to Jacob's cabin, and that's when Jack Gets Pregnant."

All of this is, of course, just for fun and reveals nothing about the actual finale. But Lindelof & Cuse, master teasers that they are, mention that "The Hooded Leprechaun" in particular seems "oddly appropriate" given what actually happens.
