Naturally, don't read this if you don't want to know, but I figured it'd be nice to have a look at the bigger picture of what to expect over the next month. What follows is courtesy of ABC's press releases and my own conjecture...
Season 4, Episode 10
Title: "Something Nice Back Home"
Jack-Centric Flashforward
Synopsis: "When Jack's health is seriously compromised, Kate and Juliet must learn to work together in order to save him; and something goes wrong as Sawyer, Claire, Aaron and Miles continue their trek away from Locke's camp and back to the beach."
Theories: Keamy catches up with Sawyer's group? Although it would be cooler if they stumbled across a still-alive Rousseau. Also, don't expect to see any of Locke, Hurley, or Ben.
Season 4, Episode 11
Title: "Cabin Fever"
Locke-Centric Flashback (we'll meet a 5-year-old and 16-year-old Locke)
Synopsis: "Locke is enlightened as to the whereabouts of Jacob's cabin, and life aboard the freighter becomes perilous."
Theories: The only flashback of the rest of the season and, possibly, ever - they say it will be "mythologically significant." And by "enlightened" do they mean "he realizes it doesn't have a static location?" One more oddity: in the cast list, John Terry (Christian Shephard) is listed for this episode, but not "Something Nice Back Home." Ooh, plus, Richard the Other is back - in Ben's childhood? Proving that he's either ageless or a time traveler? Maybe?
Season 4, Episode 12
Title: "There's No Place Like Home, Part 1"
Everybody-Centric
Synopsis: "The face-off between the survivors and the freighter people begins."
Theories: From the cast list, we know that people from Sayid, Sun, Jin, Hurley, Jack, and Claire's lives show up, although I'm fairly sure it will be all flash-forwards. And boy, they kept it brief in the synopsis, but they're definitely not-so-subtly hinting about a major showdown. I also wonder how Michael, Desmond, and Sayid will fare on the freighter, but I guess we'll find that out the previous week.
Season 4, Episode 13
Title: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3" (two hour finale)
Everybody-Centric
There's no info on this. ABC is keeping things tighter than the grip you'll have on your armchair while watching it. We do know a few things that we've already discussed at length: we'll find out who's in the coffin, there will be a "spectacular kiss", we'll see how the Oceanic Six get off the island, and Ben will be involved in an uber-secret final scene that they're not even shooting until May 7th. Oh, and the big twist at the end will leave us wondering how the show can continue giving us flashbacks or flashforwards.
