Seasons 5 and 6 gets 17 episodes each

ABC made official the plan to add an extra hour to each remaining season of Lost, according to Reuters.

Season 4 will have a total of fourteen hours by the time the two-hour finale airs on May 29th. Since the deal was originally to produce three more seasons of sixteen hours each, in order to balance things out, the remaining two seasons will now have seventeen hours each.

What this probably means is that they'll make each finale two hours long. Considering I've treated the past three years' two-hour season finales as nothing short of a second Christmas, let's hope so.
