Remember to watch Fringe tonight

J.J. Abrams' Fringe premieres tonight, at the odd time of 8:00 - 9:35, on Fox.

The network, which is being extremely kind to its new show, obviously wants it to be the next Lost. Just look at the title font:

Just to recap, it stars an FBI agent (Anna Torv) assigned to work on creepy paranormal cases with a mad scientist (John Noble) and his son (Joshua Jackson). And it opens with a plane crash.

The pilot was screened for critics a while back, and for fans at Comic-Con (I missed it, unfortunately), and consensus seemed to be that it started out terrifically, the middle was interesting but dragged a little, and it ended terrifically.

Abrams has said that while there's an overarching mythology, each show should be much more self-contained than Lost's episodes.

Even if it's half as good as our show, we'll keep watching.
