Remember "The Sickness"?

It was a major Season 1 mystery - that "sickness" that Rousseau kept talking about that killed (or forced her to kill) her entire crew. Jack was all, "Not one of us have gotten sick!", but then there was that interminable amount of time when Claire thought Aaron had the sickness and kept shouting "Moiy baby's seeeeck!"

I'm pretty sure it happened just like that. Anyway, Jeff Jensen mentions the sickness in his preview of tonight's episode:

It seems most likely that the time-travel illness that killed Minkowski is the same mythical ''sickness'' that killed The French Lady's fellow scientists wayyy back in the day. I really love this idea. I was never fond of the idea that ''the sickness'' was a Dharma hoax. It just didn't feel right. But this — this feels right. And if it is right, I love it even more for the way this answer was basically left for us to puzzle out, as opposed to having some dude explain it all to us. I expect that in the coming episodes and seasons, more Lost mysteries will be resolved this way.

I wouldn't jump the gun just yet - if it's true that getting unstuck in time and going nuts is the sickness, which I think it is, somebody dude is probably still going to explain it all. But it also raises these questions:

Oddly enough, not too long ago I was mulling over writing a post about Season 1 mysteries that everybody seems to have forgotten about. (Another one is those two skeletons the castaways found when they first went to the caves.) I guess I won't have to now.
