Rebecca Mader joins Men Who Stare At Goats

Rebecca Mader has landed the female lead in the new movie Men Who Stare at Goats, which stars no less than George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey, and Stephen Lang.

Unfortunately, it's set in Iraq, which means everybody suddenly stopped paying attention to what I was writing and rolled their eyes. For some reason, Hollywood still has not learned the lesson of Rendition, Lions for Lambs, Redacted, In the Valley of Elah, Grace is Gone, and this weekend's Body of Lies: don't make movies about Iraq, no matter how many stars you get to play in them.

On the bright side, it's a big step up for Mader, and EW assures us via an ABC insider that she's still very much on Lost. (Unless they killed her off and are trying to keep it covered up.)

The Hollywood Reporter describes the movie like so:

"Goats" is set in Iraq and centers on Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor), a desperate reporter who stumbles upon the story of a lifetime when he meets Lyn Cassady (Clooney), who claims to be a former secret U.S. military psychic soldier who was reactivated after 9/11.

Sounds kind of fun, in an I-wish-it-wasn't-set-in-Iraq kind of way.
