New Character Info: Paul

Once again, Michael Ausiello alerts us to another Lost casting call:

Team Darlton is on the prowl for an actor of any ethnicity to play…
Paul: An overworked, harried male age 30-60 who finds himself in a highly adrenalized situation that forces him to remain calm and tests his ability to keep his wits about him — a test he fails miserably. Must be available for episodes 602 and 603.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's too far of a jump to assume that Paul won't be a very important character. Why? Because of the lack of specificity. Any ethnicity? 30-60? Basically, the beginning of the season will deal with some kind of crisis situation, and Paul's your typical "the guy who panics" character.

Then there's the also-not-much-of-a-stretch implication that he dies after two episodes.

No, what's really interesting about this description is the reveal that there will be some kind of "highly adrenalized situation" that happens early on. The first place my mind goes? Another plane crash. The season starts with a season one-like plane crash, but one that involves different people stepping into the roles inhabited by our beloved castaways. And failing. Imagine Jack, if Jack was a coward -- maybe that's Paul.
