Lost on the Fringe

Joshua_Jackson-Fringe.jpgThe Hollywood Reporter broke the story today that Lost writer and exec-producer Jeff Pinkner has headed over to Fox to run their new show Fringe.

The show looks pretty cool, not least because it's another one-word sci-fi show developed by J.J. Abrams. It stars John Noble (Lord of the Ring's Denethor) as a mad scientist, Joshua Jackson as his son, and unknown Anna Torv as a hot FBI chick who all team up to "confront the spread of unexplained phenomena."

More similarities to Lost: it'll kick off with a two-hour pilot that will cost the network a cool $10 million.

Pinkner goes way back with Abrams (he was also a writer on Alias), but he's no slouch. He wrote the way-cool Lost episodes The Man from Tallahassee - in which Locke blows up the sub and meets up with his dad - and Not in Portland, Juliet's first flashback episode. And Fringe is a pretty cool title. I'll be sure to check this one out in the fall.
