LOST is about Desmond

I'm seriously freaking myself out right now. I was going back and re-reading some of the posts I've made on my personal blog about LOST and remembered one I wrote almost 2 years ago: lost is about desmond hume.

At the time I was thinking about how Dez is a lost man trying to get his girl back and all.

Then tonight I read an analysis of last week's episode from my favorite non-dailyLOST LOST blog Lost...and Gone Forever:

I love that it makes the Desmond-Penny love story the central story for the entire series of Lost – something that could provide the way off of the Island for our Survivors, prove that nothing can keep true love apart, and provides some very plausible explanations a lot of the strange variables we’ve seen thus far regarding the “off Island” stuff. It also solidifies Desmond as the most important character on the show.

Seriously, 2 years later and the same theme pops back up again. There are still a lot of questions about why all the other characters and all, but couldn't this show really indeed be about Dez and Penny? Or at least that story ends up being the key to it all?
