Terry O'Quinn knows Locke. He's even argued with writers over character decisions, that's how well he knows him. And he gives a refreshingly frank interview over at MSNBC, alluding to some cast clashes and dishing on character development.
He even answers the question, "Has Locke gone insane?"
O’Quinn: The question is whether he’s gone over the edge or where is the edge or how far is he going to go, whether he’s being misled and where he’s being led and whether he’s going to have the good sense to stop when he gets to the right place. I don’t know.
Personally, I'm captivated by Locke. He's not a charmer. He's not someone I'm particularly rooting for. In fact, I don't know if I trust him. At all. But there's something so compelling about his drive. It's more than just his supernatural healing; He's taken ownership of the island. And he seems intent on staying, risking his own sanity (and the sanity of those around him) in his fight to do so.
