Lingering Oceanic Six Confusion

By now it's widely considered that Aaron is the sixth member of the Oceanic 6 that also includes Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Sun. But here's something a little strange: Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are mute on the subject.

Cuse told TV Guide today that they're "not going public with any further clarifications right now." Well, why not? These guys are usually everywhere dropping hints and clarifying plot points, and now when we're presented with a simple but nagging issue, they're hiding in the writers' room. He adds: "But Damon and I will say you have now seen all of the Oceanic Six in this season's episodes."

This might be resolved as early as tomorrow, when Entertainment Weekly puts their weekly Lost preview on their website, which usually contains a brief message from Lindelof or Cuse. And maybe they're just trying to avoid the questions that will naturally come afterwards, namely, "So is Jin really dead?"

Is something tricky going on? Probably not. But if it turns out Ben is impersonating some dead Oceanic 815er in the future, and the other five are going along with the story because they want Widmore and his team taken down, don't tell me I didn't warn you.

The promo for after the break said that all of the Oceanic 6 had been revealed, and showed each of them in turn - Jack, Kate, Aaron, Hurley, Sayid and Sun - so no funny stuff. Though I still say they are cheating with Aaron but whatever.
