"Jughead" Ratings Match Last Week

The third episode of Season 5, "Jughead", pulled in 11 million viewers on Wednesday, just about what the season premiere episodes made a week before.

Usually Lost opens big but then drops 2-4 million viewers in its next episode. The newfound consistency is further evidence that the show has finally slimmed down to its "core viewers", shedding pretty much all of the bandwagon-jumpers who got scared once they realized it was a sci-fi show.

That it's done this and still has 13-14 million weekly viewers (with DVR numbers added) is pretty extraordinary, given that most networks previously saw sci-fi shows as having only limited or cult appeal. Without Lost, there'd most likely never have been Heroes, Jericho, or Fringe.
