Jorge Garcia Tells Us What's What

Jorge Garcia (that's Hurley for you non-true fans) talked a bit to Entertainment Weekly's Jeff Jensen the other day and he was all too happy to reveal what he thinks is going on - and plenty of other tidbits, too, including a couple of Star Wars references that my inner geek loved. Man, my inner geek is such a nerd.

On Charlie's appearance in Hurley's flash-forward:

I didn't think Hurley was just imagining him. I did believe he was there. But that might be because I tend to trust Hurley more than other people...It would be fun for Dominic to pop in a lot in a similar way — kind of make him the Obi-Won [sic] Kenobi type of character for the show.

On Jack's Dad sitting in Jacob's chair:

John Terry [the actor who plays Christian] did not work when I shot that scene. They shot me in the robe and slippers from [the mental hospital]. I didn't know if they were going to change it, or if the plan was to change it. [But] I don't think they would have shot it if they knew it wasn't going to be me, because I can't imagine them doing it just to throw you off the scent.

I can. But wait -- he just said that they originally shot him in Jacob's chair?

It had an Empire Strikes Back quality to it, when Luke's in Dagobah and he finds himself under the Darth Vader mask; I kinda had this feeling that Jacob — we kinda project the image of Jacob ourselves. Like, everyone sees their own Jacob, in many ways. However, the premiere kinda threw it out the window for me, seeing it was Jack's dad.

On what Hurley meant when he told Jack "It's going to do everything it can to bring us back":

I think it's the Island. It's believing that the Island is an entity the way Locke does.

Be sure to check out the entire article, because Jensen - who's seen tonight's episode - also gives us a list of cryptic clues as to what's in store for us. Some of the things he mentions: Ben's young flashback friend Annie, the Hydra Station, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, and the mythology of the Fantastic Four. Why those last two things have anything to do with Lost I suppose we'll have to figure out.
