Jin Confused Me

I'll admit it. Last night watching LOST I missed it. Not only did I not see a few things coming, when I saw them, I still didn't get it.

Fess up. Maybe not this week, but you've done it with LOST before too, right?

Right?

Regina surprised me. Michael Kevin didn't. Juliet was a tattle-tail. Sawyer was missing. Jack was just hanging out.

Sun was amazing. Her story was incredible to watch and piece together.

But Jin. Dude confused me. My wife and I paused several times trying to put it together and by the end we still missed it.

Sure there were clues but I didn't put them together during the show. The cell phone. His anger issues. The year of the Dragon. But still...

We figured Jin must have faked his death and Sun was tricked. Jin must have remarried (2 months ago) and went back to work for Paik. But why would Jin fake his death?

Heh heh. Thank you Internets! Reading up on other people's thoughts on the show helped us realize -- doh! -- he didn't fake his death! Jin was in a flashBACK while Sun was in a flashFORWARD. Ooooohhhhhh!

So now we ask: is Jin really dead? I think Sun thinks so. Hurley too. At the graveside it seemed too real -- no show there for the peoples. The headstone certainly is keeping up the "lies of the Oceanic Six" that Jin died during the crash and that isn't true.

Or Sun really missed Jin because he's still on the island alive. In the post-island time line, the birth of Ji Yeon was within at least 6 months of the rescue (if I did my maternity-math right). So that probably puts this flashforward first in the forwards we've seen.

Could the thought of Jin still being on the island when it's tearing a marriage and parents apart be the beginning of the "we have to go back" theme?

And this is the second time a post-islander has been happy that something we think isn't good is "Good". Sayid told Ben they knew who he was. Ben said "Good". Huh? Now Sun tells Hurley no one else is showing up to congratulate her and Hurley says "Good".

Huh? Well, stay tuned I suppose!
