How Michael will return to LOST

We've known for some time now that Michael will return to the show but we just don't know how or why. Well, I've been thinking through the different possibilities.

First of all, we don't know if he actually returns to the island or not (at least I don't think anyway). If so, then Michael might get off the island and makes it back to "home". For this to happen, the bearing that Ben gave him to follow in his boat worked and he made it back. If so, he could be part of the Oceanic 6 but I doubt it. Sounds like the 6 were found together. So it's possible no one knows he's back or knew he was on Oceanic 815. In this case, he could be back on the show only in other character's flash forwards.

Another possibility is that he made it off the island but didn't make it home. In this case, he probably gets picked up somewhere -- like on a Freighter or something.

The last possibility is that he comes back to the island. Potentially he could be leading a team to the island but most likely he's alone (and probably not with Taller Walt for whatever reason). This is where I'm laying my proverbial money down. And after last week I'm even more confident.

I believe now more than ever that there is some sort of protective bubble over the island. We've gotten clues before with the hatch implosion and Faraday's payload that arrived late. Last week we saw the helicopter making it's way through a storm that seemed like it was the edge of the bubble. It was at that point that Desmond began suffering from what Faraday called "side effects" of not staying on course. He was specific that to get off the island they needed to follow a particular heading. Ben told Michael the same. I now believe that there is a little hole in the bubble in which people can enter and leave the island.

And just like Desmond never made it out of the bubble on his boat when he left Locke pushing the button, brotha, I bet Michael didn't either and will face the same fate Desmond did when he tried to leave: back on the island.
