He's Back!

harold_l.jpg It's been so anticipated that the surprise has diffused into a "no biggie" kind of reaction. It's remarkable, really, that for all the twists and turns the writers have shocked us with in the past, that they haven't been able to keep Michael's return a jaw-dropper. But it's finally going to happen. Tonight. And will he be on the boat? It's hardly a spoiler to say yes. Executive producer Damon Lindelof confirms what we've all been assuming:
''Yes, we know you have all figured out who Ben's man on the boat is. But once we've confirmed that for you, there's still TEN MINUTES OF SHOW LEFT.''

So it's the final ten minutes I'm anticipating now. Because I'm needy and demanding and need a reveal that will blow my mind.

Really, to keep his return a surprise, they should never have made the announcement about Harold Perrineau's return to the show. Just as they should have kept Alan Dale (Charles Widmore) out of the opening credits last week. Perhaps end credits would be more effective than opening ones. Or delayed credits. Yes, I propose that actors are credited the week AFTER their episode airs.

I'm still holding to the faint hope that Michael's not on the freighter, that he didn't find a time loophole and end up on a boat that, chronologically, doesn't line up with his island departure:

Still, I don't want to get your hopes up. All signs point to Michael. But spoiled surprise or no, there is some mystery surrounding his return to Lost, a riddle that can be summed up in one word: How? Think this through, my fellow Lost theorists: Michael's return to the Island defies storytelling logic. According to the well-researched timeline housed at lostpedia.org, Michael and Walt left the Island 67 days after the crash of Oceanic 815 — in other words, late November 2004. But the freighter has been offshore since mid-December. Surely it took longer than just a couple weeks for Ben to get Michael in position.

So: How? How can Michael really be on that boat?

Continue reading the article for a couple interesting theories that could explain Michael ending up on the boat.

Less than two hours and the mystery will be solved. We'll see Michael. We'll have the Oceanic Six figured out. And my money's on some sort of twist or mystery being introduced that will leave our story still completely mind-blowing and unresolved.
