Finale ratings

Lost scored its best ratings in two months with last Thursday's finale, and even better, it kept climbing as the night went on -- it started out with 11.7 million viewers and ended with 12.7 million. It was easily the top-rated show of the night.

The bad news is that it's the lowest-rated season finale yet; last year scored 13.9 million viewers, while the heyday of Season 1 scored over 20 million.

Of course, as I always like to say, the drop, while a reality, isn't as drastic as it looks because of the advent of DVRs. When you add Live+7 ratings - the number of people who watch it within a week of airing - it could hit as high as 16 million.
