Evangeline Lilly: "I'm Like a Man"

"The only reason I was going for auditions when I won the role of Kate in Lost was an exercise in self-exploration," [Evangeline] said. "But I'm like a man - you know, 'I can do anything."

It's been no secret that Lilly was pretty green in her acting career when she landed the role of a lifetime. In fact, she's even called her acting aspirations "a blip on the radar." So while it's a testament to Lost's casting team's eye for raw talent that she ended up as Kate, unsurprisingly, the cast wasn't entirely impressed that she landed a choice role so effortlessly.

"They were furious. You could see it written all over their faces. They were thinking, 'I've done all this work to get to this place and here you are with nothing to draw on, standing at the same place as me.'"
