Dreaming of Emmy...

Over at EW.com, they've posted their Emmy Nominee Wish List. And while Lost received no acting attention (Have they never looked into Michael Emerson's eyes? Really, people), it certainly made an impression:

BEST DRAMA

GILLIAN FLYNN:
I'd normally demand, agitate, insist on a nod for HBO's The Wire. This last season was by far its weakest, but that's still better than most TV. So I will simply request a nomination — and cross my fingers that HBO's (multiple) family drama Big Love gets some attention for its intricate second season.
KEN TUCKER: To paraphrase Smokey Robinson, I second that Wire emotion. But I think Lost has made a huge comeback in quality and pop culture centrality.
GILLIAN: I agree. I'd almost given up on Lost, but this season has managed to yank me back in. It's interesting, since I'm not overly attached to any of the characters — you notice we haven't pushed for any acting nods for Lost.
KEN: You're right — its premise/execution/phenomenon transcends individual performances. The other show we have mentioned in the actor categories, but which I think we should include here, if for no other reason than the Emmys will probably ignore it yet again, is Friday Night Lights. Yes, its second season was wobblier than its first, but — much like The Wire — even an uneven FNL is superior to 98 percent of other TV dramas.

OUR PICKS: The Wire, Lost, Big Love, Friday Night Lights

Here's hoping that the powers that be agree. Best show on TV. Period.
