Brief Notes on the New Episode Titles

We now know the titles of episodes 7-10. The hard part? Trying to divulge meaning from them:

"3:16"

Knowing Lost, it's probably a double or triple meaning. But one of those meanings might be the Bible verse John 3:16, possibly the most famous verse in the New Testament ("For God so loved the world..."). The show already named one episode after another Bible verse ("The 23rd Psalm," the Eko episode where we saw the smoke monster for the first time in full), so it would make perfect sense.

The problem is, this particular verse is basically the one-sentence explanation of Christianity, and while Lost has always been a show about faith, it's only ever explicitly referenced a particular religion when it was important to one of the characters (Eko, Sayid). So the episode could focus on a Christian character, but since Eko's gone, the only one I know of is Hurley, a Catholic.

"LeFleur"

It was one of the passwords for Dharma Special Access, so obviously they're up to something. In real life, Louis LeFleur was a French Canadian explorer. Most likely it's just the name of a character we haven't met yet.

"Namaste"

The all-purpose greeting of the Dharma Initiative. Sort of like "Aloha." Or "Shalom." So this episode is going to be very Dharma-centric.

"He's Our You"

I like this title a lot, although it could refer to a lot of things. "He's our you" is probably something someone would say to a leader about another leader -- for example, Hurley telling Ben that Jack is "our you."

Continuing with the Dharma theme, I'm going to make the wild guess that Richard is somehow talking to the leader of the Dharma Initiative and explaining that Locke is "our you." But really, you could twist it around to mean pretty much anything. Almost as though they planned it like that...
