Amy's with Dharma

Ausiello at EW nabbed a quick chat with new recurring cast member Reiko Aylesworth, a.k.a. "Amy."

The big news the article reveals? As I predicted (go me!) she's a member of the Dharma Initiative. (Aylesworth doesn't reveal this; Ausiello's "sources" do.) And it goes further:

One theory making the rounds is that Amy, who'll be introduced during the show's fifth season (debuting Wednesday, Jan. 21), will be revealed to be someone from the early days of the Dharma Initiative. [...] That would seem to confirm buzz that Ben (Michael Emerson) transported the island and all of its inhabitants back to the '70s in last May's finale.

I've always assumed that the island jumped ahead in time by the same span that Ben did after turning the wheel -- roughly ten months. But, yeah, dramatically, heading back to the pre-Purge '70s would make a lot of sense and be very cool.

And I still say Amy's a love interest for Locke.

By the way, Aylesworth gets in a little dig at her previous employer, Fox's 24:

"[Lost] sounds like it's going to be great stuff. I'm just excited to do something other than getting people files and carrying clipboards."
